Set within the rural landscape of Kekiklibayır, this project is an ecological settlement model developed by seven families who came together around a shared vision of communal living. The settlement consists of seven independent residential buildings and a shared-use building designed to support community life.

The settlement strategy deliberately rejects the repetitive and uniform arrangement typically found in conventional housing developments. Instead, the buildings are positioned in an organic configuration that responds to the natural topography of the site. During the design process, larger building volumes were consciously divided into smaller masses, allowing the settlement to relate to the small-scale building morphology of the local rural fabric.

With building biology principles at the heart of the project, structural and material solutions were selected with a focus on human and environmental health. Timber framing was planned as the primary structural system, while the walls were designed using earthen blocks that provide high thermal mass and vapor permeability. For interior surfaces, the use of earthen panels was envisaged to passively optimize indoor humidity and climate conditions.

As part of a circular resource management approach, rainwater harvesting was considered one of the key sustainability components of the settlement, supporting the responsible use and management of water resources.
