Located within the dense settlement fabric of Barbaros Village, Erdem House was conceived to meet the needs of a family through a design process that brings together the principles of building biology and the local architectural culture. The relationship between the users and the space, access to daylight, natural ventilation, and spatial experiences that enhance quality of life were the primary considerations throughout the design process.

The building’s architecture draws inspiration from the region’s tradition of stone-walled buildings, establishing a connection with the local heritage through the use of local stone craftsmanship and timber detailing. The interior gallery void creates a spacious living environment by establishing visual and spatial continuity between the floors. This configuration allows daylight to penetrate deeper into the building while strengthening the relationship between different areas of use.

Erdem House stands out as a user-oriented residential project that brings together local architectural heritage, building biology principles, and the expectations of contemporary living.
